On Second Thought...

I do what I want.

Notes

Abba.

3/6/11

Today I am thankful for a God that I can call Abba.  The scriptures I have been reading lately all have seemed to have a person calling out to our father as Abba.  Doing some research on the word, and hearing others speak on it, I have learned that it was a term of endearment that we do not even have a word for in the English language.  It is a word similar to Daddy, but still even more deeper than that.  It is a term that is used to call out to a Father that is so dear and so precious to your heart and you feel so close to Him that all you can say is Abba father, take me higher.  Abba.  It is so incredible to think about when the God that created everything, and is everything gives us the opportunity to call Him Abba and to have such a close relationship with Him.  I want so badly for others to experience this kind of a relationship with God.  So many times we get confused in our thinking about what it is to truly have a relationship with God.  We think that going to church, reading our Bible every now and again, and doing some good community service will bring us closer to Him.  While that could happen, our relationship cannot solely depend on that.  We have to work, we have to learn to depend on Him in every circumstance, whether good or bad.  We have to talk to him, be vulnerable in front of Him.  When we are brought to our knees because we are so grieved we can bearly breathe we have to take the opportunity to

Cry ABBA FATHER

I need you,

I need your guidance,

I need your comfort,

I need your peace.

Ask and it shall be given unto you.

When all is right with the world and we think that life couldn’t get any better.  When we are right where we need to be, we should take the opportunity to get on our knees and

cry ABBA FATHER.

Thank you for your abundant blessings

Thank you for guiding my spirit

Thank you for watching over me

Thank you for being my Father.

Give thanks with a cheerful heart.

We have such a great opportunity to lean on our God everyday.  To build a relationship so close that we are able to call out ABBA Father, and he hears us, and he answers us, and he LOVES us.  When we don’t take this time to talk to our father and let Him talk back we are wasting precious moments in our relationship.  Life is too short to not build that relationship as close as we possibly can.
